Assisting your residents/clients/participants to Vote in Ontario

The provincial election to occur on June 7th is rapidly approaching. The London Homeless Coalition has set one of its priorities for 2018/19 to be supporting individuals to access voting. Therefore, here is some information you can use this coming election.

One of the most significant barriers to voting is identification. As per this link, you require either a piece of government issued ID with name and current address, or your voter identification card and ID with your name. To address this barrier, Elections Ontario has a process for individuals to access a Certificate of Identity and Residence: from designated administrators.

Please see the following document as to how your organization can become a designatred administrator, and how your staff can be rostered to fill out the Certificate of Identity and Residence: Certificate-of-Identity-and-Residence-program-details
