London’s New Income-Related Transit Program comes into effect January 2018. If you are a London resident, over the age of 18, with income below the low-income cut off (after tax), you may be eligible to purchase a bus pass for $52 per month starting January 2018.
The application for the new income-related transit program is now available. Residents can apply for the new program in one of three ways:
- Online – click here to access the online application
- Paper – visit any Social Services office to pick up a paper application OR call 519.661.5910 for an application to be mailed
- Phone – residents can call 519.661.5910 to complete their application over the phone
All program information can be found at www.london.ca/transitsubsidy
A guide to the online application has been developed for front line workers to support applicants to complete the application process online. ‘How-to’ guides specifically for applicants, including a step by step guide outlining how to register a smart card online, are being developed. If your organization has a computer lab and would like these materials shared with your organization, please email Jen Carter at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Purchasing for subsidized passes will begin on December 15th across 9 locations in the community. Please note that only those who have applied for the program and their application has been processed will be able to purchase a bus pass. A complete list of locations can be found on the website and in the attached brochure.
